Chapter Election

The council election is held every two years to elect the new executive that will run the affairs of the Nigerian Chapter EGM. The council election is backed by the Nigerian Chapter’s constitution and only eligible candidates can via for elective positions if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Election Process

The election process starts with constituting an election committee that oversee and conduct a free and fair election. You can vote in the election if you are a member of the Nigerian Chapter member with an eligible membership type at the time of the election and in good standing with EGM.

For you to vote or get voted for, you need to know the following so that you do not get disenfranchised.

May 15th, 2024	Nomination collection	Commencement of collection of nomination forms for various positions/offices
May 22nd, 2024	Background check	Initiation of background check, screening, and resolution of disputes process
May 24th - May 27th, 2024	Nomination Form Submission	Deadline for submission of nomination forms for candidacy
May 28th, 2024	Candidate Withdrawal Deadline	Final day for candidates to withdraw their nominations
May 29th, 2024	Candidate Particulars Publication	Publication of personal particulars of final candidates for public review
May 30th - June 1st, 2024	Voter Register Publication	Official register of voters published by the Election Committee for public access
June 1st - June 7th, 2024	Manifesto Campaign Begins	Start of manifesto and reach-out campaigns for candidates
June 10th - June 15th, 2024	Election Date	Date scheduled for the election to take place
June 15th - June 16th, 2024	Result Collation & Announcement	Collation of election results followed by official announcement of outcomes
